Notes on the embryological development of the Brevipalpus yothersi (Acari: Tenuipalpidae)

Mites of the Brevipalpus genus are economically important due to their role as vectors plant viruses. Among them, B. yothersi is well studied because it recognized main vector citrus leprosis virus C (CiLV-C), causal agent leprosis, which one most damaging viral diseases in crops. However, studies several aspects biology still scarce, including its embryology. We performed a descriptive embryonic development study yothersi, utilizing light and scanning electron microscope obtain biological information this particular phytovirus vector. Distinct events were recorded, such centering nucleus, mitotic divisions for primitive body formation appendages, presence channels inside egg possible association with respiratory tract. Here we provide first notes about mite Americas.
